Mainichi Terms of Service
Effective October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Timothy Horng, an individual in Arizona, USA ("Mainichi," "we," "us"), for your use of the Mainichi app and related services. By creating an account or using Mainichi, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mainichi.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mainichi. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have a parent or guardian's permission.
Your account
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- use Mainichi for anything illegal, harmful, harassing or abusive;
- upload content you do not have the right to share, or that contains other people's private information;
- try to get Mainichi's AI to produce harmful content, or to bypass its safeguards or usage limits;
- interfere with, overload, probe or reverse engineer the app or its servers, except where the law allows; or
- use automated means to access Mainichi, or resell or redistribute it.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit, such as answers, messages, feedback, photos and screenshots. You give us a limited license to store, process and transmit it, including to our AI and hosting providers, only to operate and improve Mainichi as described in our Privacy Policy. If you send feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
AI-generated content
Mainichi uses AI to create lessons, explanations, grades and answers. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or unexpected, including readings, translations and grammar explanations. Mainichi is a study aid, not an authoritative source, and a lesson or grade is not a certification of your ability or a prediction of any exam result. Check important information yourself. You may use content generated for you for your own personal learning.
Our content and the app
Mainichi, its design, software and original content belong to us and our licensors. Some reference data is used under open licenses, listed in the app under Sources and licenses. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own learning, subject to these terms and the Apple Media Services terms.
Availability and changes
Mainichi is offered as is and may change. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Mainichi is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price and terms before you buy.
Ending use
You can stop using Mainichi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering Mainichi. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law, continue after your use ends.
Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Mainichi is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Mainichi. Our total liability for any claim relating to Mainichi is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnity
If you use Mainichi in violation of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, damages and claims that result, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Mainichi or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Mainichi after that means you accept the updated terms.
